Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) to meet the growing demand for management education. In 2003, NMIMS was declared a ‘Deemed to be University’, accredited by NAAC with 3.59 CGPA and Grade A+ in the 3rd cycle (Mumbai Campus).

About School of Hospitality Management

In sync with the ethos of NMIMS University, The School of Hospitality Management (SoHM) is born with a need to develop future ready leaders with combined values of Hospitality and Managerial skills. The School of Hospitality offers an innovative program in which it addresses solutions to the changing paradigms in the Hospitality industry due to technology, creativity and socio cultural changes. The School of Hospitality management will be creating leaders of tomorrow, who can be disruptive and innovative by using technology and skills taught in the SoHM.

Presenters

Dr. Ruchita Verma, Dean, NMIMS SOHM:
She is Doctorate in Management and an MBA in Administration & Tourism Management. She also holds PG in Hotel Administration and is an alumnus of famous ‘Dadar Catering College’ of Mumbai in Hotel Management & Catering Technology.

She has 26 years of experience in academics in various positions. She has had a humble beginning as a lecturer and worked her way up to a position of a Group Director. She has headed three hospitality schools and one fashion & design school for the ITM Group of Institutions, Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and as a Campus Director with Pearl Academy.

Dr. Ketan Chande, Associate Prof, NMIMS SOHM:
He is a hospitality operations professional turned accomplished educator with demonstrated ability to teach, motivate, and direct students while maintaining high interest and achievement.

He has completed his Diploma in Hotel Management from the prestigious IHM, Ahmedabad. He has an experience spanning over 30 years with 16 years in the industry with many 5 star hotels, fine dining restaurants, banquets and quick service restaurants. He has 14 years of experience in academics in various hospitality management colleges and management colleges
